3663 First for Foodservice will be powering more than three quarters of its trucks with a sustainable biodiesel mix from this month.
The food distribution company will be running the fleet using fuel made from customers' and suppliers' recycled waste vegetable oil. Graham Rennie, director of fleet for 3663, explained more: "Trucks at five depots – Edinburgh, Abingdon, Harlow, Gateshead and Salisbury – will start using the recycled biodiesel mix this month, and our trucks at Basingstoke, Lee Mill, Severn Bridge and Worthing will follow suit in April. We are delighted to be able to extend our biodiesel programme and fuel even more of our trucks with sustainable biodiesel made from waste vegetable oil. "This will allow us to supply customers across the UK with a more sustainable delivery service. The programme has removed 3663 from the food versus fuel debate because we convert waste vegetable oil from our customers and suppliers."
