According to HelloFresh, Turkey continues to ‘reign supreme’ as the favoured meat for festive sandwiches among Brits. Other options also include pigs in blankets, beef and seafood such as salmon and prawns.
A spokesperson for HelloFresh said: “Stuffing is a must have ingredient in your festive sandwich to get you in the ‘christmassy’ mood. If you’re looking for the taste of traditional, then a rich sage and onion flavour stuffing should be your go to. Alternatively, create your own and add a unique twist by incorporating chorizo into your stuffing or make your own pork and cranberry stuffing balls.
“A popular contender for festive sandwiches this year is gravy mayo paired with cranberry sauce to keep the sandwich moist and stop it from running dry. Another one is cranberry chutney which pairs well with Turkey to elevate the flavour and give it an extra tangy kick. Apple cider sauce complements many proteins including pork, chicken, turkey and sausages to create a sweet and slightly tangy contrast.”
