Baked Earth Bakery launches new flatbread wraps for foodservice sector

22nd Mar 2024 - 04:00
Baked Earth Bakery has launched round Turkish style wraps and Greek style wraps that can be packed with ingredients to make a light lunch, a food-to-go snack or used as an accompaniment to dips.

Both suitable for vegans and vegetarians, the Baked Earth flatbread wraps are available to the catering sector via frozen food distributor Central Foods. The wraps can be warmed from frozen in four to five minutes in an oven or in a few minutes under the grill. They can also be defrosted and eaten cold.

The flatbreads are an ideal replacement for tortillas for food service professionals who are keen to offer their customers ‘something extra special’.

Dan Butt, managing director of Nottingham-based Baked Earth, said: “We have been baking flatbreads for almost 35 years, continually innovating and creating new and exciting products for our food service customers. We are very pleased to have launched the Turkish and the Greek style flatbreads. They are tasty, versatile and just perfect for the latest trends in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine.”

Both approximately 200mm in diameter, the Turkish style is topped with brown and yellow linseeds and kalonji (black onion) seeds, while the Greek style is embedded with ancient grains, such as linseeds, sunflower seeds, millet, wheat flakes, oat flakes, barley flakes and crushed rye.
