Abstract
Cardiff & Vale College has achieved multiple operational and hygiene benefits since introducing Celebration Packaging’s zero-touch disposable wooden cutlery dispensers across its catering sites.

Anthony Ruston, head of department – catering and retail operations at CF10 Retail Ltd, said: “We originally trialed the wooden cutlery dispensers in one of our college canteens and customer feedback was really positive.

“Customers appreciate that the unit keeps the cutlery in a more sanitary condition than traditional open trays. We’ve also noticed reduced cutlery usage and fewer breakages, as people only take what they need.”

Hygienic, sustainable & convenient

Celebration Packaging’s revolutionary zero-touch dispensers are designed to combine hygiene, convenience and sustainability.

The dispensers ensure zero operator contact during refilling, preventing cross-contamination. This makes them ideal for self-service areas, takeaway and QSR restaurants, food kiosks, food courts, service stations and stadiums.

David Oates, director at Celebration Packaging, commented: “We’re proud to have launched the world’s most hygienic wooden cutlery dispenser. There are no buttons or levers to press—users simply pull the cutlery handle from the dispenser, reducing the risk of contamination from germs and bacteria.”

Reducing waste and improving efficiency

Designed to prevent wastage and over-consumption, the dispenser allows users to take only the items they need. With its compact footprint, it can be placed on counters or wall- or stand-mounted, offering flexibility for different service environments.

For operators, the unit is robust, low-maintenance, and mechanically operated, requiring no power or batteries. Its transparent housing clearly shows cutlery levels, ensuring easy monitoring and timely refilling.

Oates added: “These dispensers offer a hygienic, organized, and professional presentation compared to messy open trays. Perhaps the biggest benefit is that users only touch the handle of the piece they’re going to use—making it both hygienic and waste-saving.”

Simple to load and customisable

Refilling the dispenser is straightforward. The factory-sealed refill packs ensure hygienic handling—simply open the flap, remove the empty cartridge, insert the refill, and it’s ready to use. The process is entirely touch-free and tool-free, ensuring efficiency during busy service periods.

Flexible cutlery options

The dispenser accommodates three refill cartridges, allowing customers to tailor combinations to suit service needs. Options include regular-sized and new smaller snack-sized knives, forks, and spoons. For example, operators might choose a mix of regular wooden knives, forks and spoons, or build entirely custom combinations to suit different menus and service formats.

Advertising space

Each dispenser features space on both side panels (335 x 188mm, portrait) for posters, branding, or promotional messages. This provides an excellent opportunity to display advertisements, event information, or public messaging, helping the unit integrate seamlessly with your overall visual identity.

Conclusion

Celebration Packaging’s zero-touch wooden cutlery dispensers deliver a clean, modern, and sustainable solution for foodservice operators looking to improve hygiene, reduce waste, and enhance customer confidence.
