Abstract
Arena’s next event, which is taking place on Friday 15 July 2022 at The Rosewood Hotel in London, will bring together a number of hospitality and foodservice leaders to discuss ‘The Future of Eating Out’.

Eating out is on the road to recovery but it is facing continued challenges which means it cannot operate the same as it did before the Covid-19 pandemic. At Arena’s Savoy Lecture IGD’s chief economist James Walton highlighted the key headwinds affecting the sector including inflation, cost increases and cash-poor consumers.

Arena’s next event will explore these challenges in more detail to see how suppliers and operators can work together by becoming ‘more agile, dynamic and creative to spark innovation and opportunities to succeed in the new world’.

The morning of the event will feature Prestige Purchasing chairman David Read and chief executive Shaun Allen who will discuss the impacts of inflation, Brexit and climate change have on the food system.

After a drinks and canape reception as well as a three-course lunch, strategic advisor to the hospitality industry Anne Elliott will host a thought-leadership discussion with leaders from the industry.

The first two speakers joining the panel discussion are Julie Ennis chief executive of corporate services at Sodexo UK & Ireland and Michael Bonsor managing director of The Rosewood London. The panel will discuss the rise of the super-experience, opportunities & innovation, improving efficency & productivity as well as customer closeness.
