The partnership aims to integrate practical food growing, learning and sustainability initiatives into BaxterStorey Ireland, supporting clients in meeting environmental and social responsibility objectives.
It will support BaxterStorey Ireland’s existing sustainability programmes, Grow at Work and Grow at Schools, which are being rolled out across its portfolio.
GIY works to reconnect people with how food is grown, prepared and consumed, promoting several core food empathy behaviours: connecting to soil; reducing food waste; reducing food pollution as well as supporting seasonal and local produce.
Through the partnership, BaxterStorey Ireland will focus on supporting clients and teams through the increased use of seasonal and Irish produce, improved food knowledge and menu planning, stronger links with local suppliers and running practical sustainability initiatives across the supply chain.
Gar Byrne, head of food at BaxterStorey Ireland, said: “This partnership allows us to work more closely with GIY to embed growing, education and sustainability into our catering operations. Being the first provider to develop this type of collaboration at scale reflects our commitment to practical, long-term improvements in how food is sourced, prepared and served.
“It also celebrates Ireland’s rich horticultural heritage and supports our Irish food heroes. Built around our People, Purpose, Planet mission, this partnership represents an exciting opportunity to drive meaningful, positive change across our industry.”
