Business remains strong at caterer BaxterStorey

22nd Sep 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Contract wins with over 30 new clients including auditor Ernst & Young, fashion house Hermes, and law firm Addleshaw Goddard, have helped to ensure that 2009 has remained a year of strong client acquisition for BaxterStorey.
Serving 400 clients across more than 520 sites, in recent months BaxterStorey has experienced a steady stream of new business as well as client retention across the UK. In a statement the catering company said: "In particular, we have enjoyed buoyant growth in Scotland and Ireland with the turnover for Scotland doubling during 2009 and Ireland increasing its turnover by over 140%, now catering across 41 sites compared to 14 in 2008." Noel Mahoney, MD, BaxterStorey added that the ongoing trading climate has not hindered the company's continued success. "We've used the current market conditions to drive innovation and deliver our clients with even greater value." He says that the company's award-winning focus on sustainability is also reaping dividends. "Clients want to save money. Being able to provide cost-effective green solutions to support catering services which in turn generate significant cost savings has been of real interest to both our new and existing client base." Noel Mahoney went on to say: "We are delighted with our progress so far this year. We fully anticipated the difficult trading environment and we have been pleasantly surprised by the new business grown. I don't think we are anywhere near close to the end of the market downturn, however we are well positioned to maximise the opportunities ahead of us and we are confident that BaxterStorey will continue to thrive." BaxterStorey also won three awards at this year's Cost Sector Catering Awards back in April.
