To celebrate the membership, Cardiff and Vale College hosted a special one-night collaborative dinner, featuring guest chefs and annual Awards of Excellence Achievers Kuba Pedzik and Tom Baker from The Vineyard, alongside Michelin-starred chef Hywel Jones and Alex Greene from Lucknam Park.
The evening concluded with desserts created and served by the student chefs showcasing the next generation of culinary talent. The Classroom is already known for its high standards, holding an AA Rosette, which was recently renewed.
The restaurant offers an affordable fine dining experience, where dishes are prepared, cooked and served by students of the college, guided by some of the country’s leading chefs and hospitality professionals.
Neil Rippington, director of the Royal Academy of Culinary Art's College Community Programme, said: “This partnership represents exactly what the College Community Programme is about – creating real opportunities for students, showcasing emerging talent, and connecting them with industry leaders.
“Seeing the college become the first in Wales to join the Academy is a proud moment, and we are excited for the future impact this collaboration will have on learners and the wider hospitality sector.”
