Both head chefs and those on the Chef Academy are encouraged to take part in the three-round competition that will be kicking off later this year. This year, the competition begins with all entrants creating a two-course menu considering Care UK food framework, plus seasonality, waste reduction and local feel.
Both courses must be able to be prepared, cooked, and presented in 90 minutes, and alongside this the two-meal course and beverage must come to no more than £4.50 per person. The winner of Chef of the Year for 2025 will be revealed at the next Care UK Stars Awards ceremony.
One of the finalists from the 2024 edition of the competition Michal Szulinski from Jubilee House said: “Every aspect of this competition has been an absolute joy, particularly the chance to connect with extraordinary chefs boasting vast experience and talent. The vibrant, creative ambiance has been profoundly motivating. Being named a finalist is an immense honour, fuelling my drive to evolve and excel further.”
