Abstract
CareerScope, a free service launched on 28 September, aims to support those who have lost their job due to Covid-19 get back into employment.

The CareerScope hub is a partnership between organisations including the Institute of Hospitality, Springboard, Hospitality Action, UKHospitality and the Savoy Educational Trust.

It provides easy to access content on CV writing, career webinars and wellbeing resources.  A digital training academy will keep people up to date on essential skills, from customer service to food safety.

Clare Smyth, chef patron at Core by Clare Smyth, said: “This is a great initiative to help those who’ve lost their jobs get back on their feet and give them the skills and support to re-launch their career.”

Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic the hospitality industry employed 3.2 million people and was 8% of the countries GDP.

Raymond Blanc, chef patron at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, added: “When our people need us most, we’re stepping up, looking after their wellbeing and supporting them back into work.”
