Abstract
Host Management, a national contract catering company, has been awarded seven
new contracts with a combined turnover of over £8m.

The new wins see Host take on its first B&I combined catering and cleaning provision at the Aberdeen and Dundee-based James Hutton Institute. The Institute, a distinguished crop research centre, has 800 employees and an annual catering turnover of £750,000.

The three-year contract, previously held by Sodexo and Compass, boosts Host’s strategy for further growth in Scotland.

In Southampton Host has won a two-year catering contract for insurance company Skandia with a £500,000 annual turnover. Host will provide dining facilities to over 1,000 employees across two sites. The contract was previously held by Aramark.

Host has also taken over the retail and events catering contract for Gloucester leisure centre GL1, which receives some 500,000 visitors a year. The seven-year contract, previously held by Caterleisure, has an annual turnover of £250,000.

Other wins include New College Worcester, a residential school for the blind, where the 10-year contract has an annual turnover of £140,000 and a three-year contract at Dynex in Lincoln, worth £100,000 a year.

Bringing the total number of recent wins to seven is a 12-month contract at John Wheatley College, Glasgow, with an annual turnover of £150,000, and a three-year contract at Action for Children in Watford with an annual turnover of £100,000.

Host’s chief executive officer Bill Toner said: “We are delighted to announce these important contract wins. This year has been one of massive growth for Host through acquisitions as well as winning new contracts. As a company we remain committed to giving a great service across the business and ensuring we deliver on the promises we make to new and existing clients.”
