Abstract
National independent company Catering Academy has secured a new contract worth £900,000 at the new William Brookes secondary school in Much Wenlock, Shropshire.
In tendering the three year catering contract, William Brookes was looking for a strategic partner to support and maintain their values and ongoing ethos through a personable and professional service. There are around 930 students on roll of which 120 are members of the Sixth Form College, with 110 teaching and support staff. The team academy has introduced four service areas across the site. Café Six, which is the dedicated sixth form service, Café Sports, which will cater for the school and leisure centre, the Edge Theatre Bar, which will provide refreshments and the main central Service that provides for the students. In addition, a new position of business manager was employed to develop the out of school commercial opportunities driven by the local community. Founder director Louise Wymer said: "The impetus William Brookes place upon sustainability and a commitment to service presented a clear culture match with the ethos of Team Academy. We are thrilled to be using local water from Much Wenlock and will be implementing locally sourced produced throughout each service area to encourage the strong community environment deserving of such an iconic town."
