Catering contractors AiP awarded five stars for its 'healthy living, healthy learning' ethos

11th Oct 2010 - 00:00
Abstract
Education catering contractors Alliance in Partnership (AiP) have been awarded five stars after their local council Environmental Health Officer (EHOs) visited its catering operation at Mandeville School in Buckinghamshire.
The top marks, from the Scores on Doors scheme, in accordance to the Food Safety Act 1990, were given to the school last week. The school has an ethos of 'healthy living, healthy learning' and pupils tuck into fresh nutritious ingredients, prepared daily at the school kitchen for 1200 pupils and around 120 staff. All meals provided conform to the School Food Trust standards of 14 essential nutrients and 11 different food groups over a three-week menu cycle. AiP managing director David Weller said: "Achieving consistent marks through external governing bodies keeps us on our toes. It does wonders for staff moral and, of course, maintains our service credibility and dedication to our partner schools." AiP have held the contract at the school for 10 years.
