Abstract
The Catering Equipment Suppliers Association (CESA) has launched a new training programme designed to give people a better understanding of light equipment and tableware.

The Light Equipment and Tableware Professional (LTEP) programme is aimed at LET suppliers and manufacturers as well as foodservice operators. It was put together with the guidance and endorsement of CESA, Westminster Kingsway College and the Craft Guild of Chefs.

LTEP looks at the history, the creation and future LET products used throughout the hospitality industry. The first LETP course runs on 24 and 25 March 2020, at the CESA offices in Rotherwick House, London, E1W 1YZ.

John Whitehouse, chair of CESA, said: “It’s designed to enhance, expand and validate the professionalism of those taking the course. Candidates taking the programme may already be working in LET, and will use it to demonstrate their expertise, or they will be looking to become more involved in this part of the industry.”

LTEP candidates will learn 14 modules, each of which is based on a 15-minute presentation that is sent to them (four per week over four weeks). The modules include ‘materials, shapes and colours’, ‘glassware’ and ‘what the future looks like’. There will be a full day seminar followed by an examination.

The training initiative costs £600+VAT for CESA, CEDA, FCSI, Craft Guild of Chefs and Westminster Kingsway College members. For others it costs £865+VAT. For more information, visit: http://www.cesa.org.uk/
