Cleverchefs launches campaign to champion beans in family cooking
Abstract
Contract caterer Cleverchefs has launched its new ‘Bean me Up! Super Beans, Super You’ campaign, running throughout October and November, designed to encourage families across the UK to incorporate more beans and legumes into their everyday meals.

The campaign, which kicked-off on Monday 6th October, highlights both the health and environmental benefits of beans. Packed with fibre, beans support digestive health and a happy gut, while also offering a sustainable source of protein with a much lower environmental footprint compared to meat.

Cleverchefs will share educational resources, recipes, and cooking inspiration across its social media channels, as well as in the schools it caters for nationwide. The initiative will give children and families practical tips for making beans a delicious and accessible part of their diets.

The campaign aligns with broader national efforts to improve public health and encourage sustainable eating, with similar initiatives currently being championed by organisations such as Veg Power.

The campaign has three core aims:

  • Food Quality – Ingredients are sourced locally wherever possible, supporting British producers while delivering the freshest and most flavourful meals.
  • Nutrition – Menus are thoughtfully designed to provide balanced, wholesome options that nurture growth, fuel learning, and promote long-term health.
  • Hygiene – Across all sites, rigorous food safety standards are upheld to ensure the wellbeing of every customer.

Jaime Gardener, chief operating officer at Cleverchefs, said: “We believe early-stage food education is crucial to change the way the nation sees food. We want to help equip kids with the knowledge they need to make healthier food choices.

“Through the campaign, we want to inspire families and children to discover just how exciting cooking with beans can be. They’re affordable, versatile, and a great way to bulk up meals with a protein other than meat.”
