ESS wins £12m Technip contract

18th May 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
ESS Support Services Worldwide has announced a three-year contract worth £12m with Technip UK Limited.
The contract means ESS will provide catering and hotel services across a number of Technip vessels in West Africa, Brazil, North Sea and other world-wide regions. The award came after a detailed competitive tendering process from Technip, and follows on from the appointments of Alain Morize as managing director and John Wigglesworth as business development director for ESS Support Services Worldwide, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland. Steve Woodward, senior vice president of offshore operation services at Technip said: "Technip has an excellent relationship with ESS and is looking forward continuing to work with them. ESS has consistently provided first class catering, cleaning and facilities management aboard our vessels and worked flexibly with us over the past years. "The focus on partnership and operational delivery to date was a strong driver in making the decision to award the contract to ESS for a further three years." Alain Morize said: "We are delighted to win this contract. It reflects the effective delivery and commitment of our operational team to meet Technip's expectations. We have built on an excellent operational relationship to strengthen our commercial clarity with Technip and map out a contract structure for the next three years." John Wigglesworth said: "The win is a real reflection on the value Technip places on the right relationships and the efforts of our operational team to deliver the right service and go the extra mile where issues arise. The marine market requires flexibility and it is our market leading position to provide this within a robust framework that has resulted in this win."
