FMC wins five year contract

Specialist caterer Facilities Management Catering (FMc) part of Compass Group has won a five year contract with Leicester City Football Club.
The contract which is worth £20 million will operate the conference, banqueting, exhibition and catering facilities for the new season, which starts this weekend. Chris Morris, managing director of sport at Compass Group, commented: "Leicester City FC is a welcome addition to our portfolio of football stadiums. We are delighted to be working with the club to apply our proven leisure and events management expertise in this exciting new partnership." On match days, the FMc catering team will run the 1884 Sports Bar, Fusions Restaurant and the 44 executive suites around the stadium. On non-event days, the sales team will manage the stadium with conference, banqueting and event business. The facilities comprise 10 function suites, two ground floor exhibition halls and 44 small meeting rooms; available for all types of events, ranging from conferences and meetings to product launches, parties, lunches and dinners for between 10 and 550 guests. Tim Davies, chief executive of Leicester City FC, said: "FMc has a proven track record in catering for major events and is a recognised industry leader in hospitality. Not only is its offer the best, it also has ideal experience for the varied needs of Leicester City FC. We are therefore confident the team will help establish our development as one of the leading sporting, leisure and conference venues in the UK." Morris concluded: "We have some great ideas for growing business opportunities at Leicester City FC. Using our expertise and experience of major sporting occasions, we aim to increase visitor numbers and enhance the profile of the club, to make it a leading conference, exhibition and events venue.
