Abstract
Food & drink wholesaler, Booker has locked down a wide range of fresh meat joints to help chefs, publicans and caterers make the most of ‘British Roast Dinner Week.’

Covering everything from extra mature roasting beef, to frozen turkey butterfly breast, horseshoe boneless pork leg and Australian boneless lamb leg, customers could make up to £2,000 cash profit during the week from 1st – 7th October.

Using the ingredients contained within Booker’s promotional leaflet, the cost price of roast pork dinner is only £1.17 while a roast turkey dinner is only £1.14 and they both include roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and stuffing. The roast beef dinner is just £1.44.

By using the products suggested by Booker such as breaded garlic mushrooms to start and strawberry gateau and cream for dessert caterers can offer a ‘meal deal.’ By selling just 50 ‘deals’ a day at a price of £9.99, it will deliver almost £2,000 cash profit.

As Stuart Hyslop, catering sales director at Booker explains: “The roast dinner is a cornerstone of Great British cuisine. Whether it’s a pub, restaurant, event caterer or even a café, roast dinners and carveries offer an opportunity to sell more and make a good profit.

“By holding these prices through until 9th October, in an ever volatile market, our customers are safe in the knowledge that they can set their menu prices and they will not start to loose margin if their costs creep up.

“We are teaming up with Knorr during ‘British Roast Dinner Week’ and anyone who wants to find out more information can contact their local Booker branch.”
