Abstract
In the week of 'thundersnow' and the 'snowpocalypse' we found some food facts.

In the UK we eat on average 84kg of meat a year – the equivalent of 740 quarter pounders. In the world meat consumption table Bangladesh comes last at 4kg (35 quarter pounders) and the US is top with 120kg or the equivalent of nearly three quarter pounders every day.

The word coffee comes from the Arabic for ‘wine of the bean’.
 
We all know that Rice Krispies snap, crackle and pop. But do you know why? The sound you hear when cold milk is added is the walls of the Rice Krispies fracturing because of the sudden shift in temperature.
 
Did you know, if you put an egg in vinegar the shell dissolves and the egg becomes clear. If you hard boil the egg first and then do it you’ll get a bouncy egg!
 
A study done in the US said that an average American spends 67 minutes per day eating and drinking beverages. Summed up together, the average Joe spends a staggering 32,098 hours eating and drinking beverages in their lifetime, which is 1,337 days, and just over 3.6 years!
