Gordon Ramsay votes Lincolnshire restaurant as one of the best

19th Oct 2010 - 00:00
Abstract
Gordon Ramsay has voted Lincolnshire restaurant Winteringham Fields a top choice for French-inspired cuisine in this year's series of Ramsay's Best Restaurant.
The Channel 4 show is the biggest restaurant competition of its kind, seeing Ramsay seeking out the very best restaurants up and down the country. With contestants from John O'Groats to Land's End, diners nominated more than 12,000 different restaurants from their favourite places to eat. Whittled down to the last two in their category, Chef Patron Colin McGurran and his team faced intense scrutiny from one of the world's best Chefs. In no doubt of their culinary expertise when coming face to face with popular Edinburgh bistrot, La Garrigue in the semi-finals of the show, the Winteringham Fields team consistently impressed Gordon and his secret diners. Commenting, Colin McGurran said: "It was fantastic to work so closely with Gordon. All of us at Winteringham Fields are thrilled to be named the top restaurant in the French cuisine category. "Confident in our cuisine, we are delighted to have got so far and thrilled with the response we had from one of the world's most revered chefs and his secret dining team." Nestled in a pretty Lincolnshire village, Winteringham Fields is recognised as one of the best restaurants in Britain. A discreet and premier restaurant with rooms, Winteringham Fields is owned and run by the McGurran family who continue to build on its magnificent reputation.
