Goymour points park visitors towards healthy eating

15th May 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
The Goymour Group, owner of the Dinosaur Adventure, Banham Zoo and Africa Alive! attractions, has signed a new contract with specialist supplier Pasta King, which will see all three of its leisure parks offering its healthy pasta meals concept.
The parks combined annually attract half a million visitors and have historically found it difficult to offer healthy food options that both appealed to the public and were fast and convenient to serve. Martin Dupée, head of operations at the Goymour Group said: "In terms of the catering, while we are catering for high volumes we also know that most people who visit us want good quality, tasty food that is affordable, as well as quick and easy to eat. Pasta is popular with people of all ages and by using Pasta King's pasta bar concept we can serve the dishes quickly and it provides lots of choice by rotating the sauces on offer. As a group, we are totally committed to providing healthier take-away food at our parks and this new contract is a big step in the right direction." Keith Pennington, Pasta King Sales Director said: "The consumer trend towards healthy eating is driving increased demand for us from caterers at outdoor leisure attractions like the Goymour Group. They recognise they will miss out on sales if they don't offer more variety than just burgers and chips. Our take-away pasta offer suits most caterers who can either run it as a front of house fast food service or offer as a premium restaurant plated dish."
