Abstract
The New Standard (TNS) Catering has partnered with the SKA Observatory (SKAO) to create a new staff food offer centering on quality, locality and global flavours.

Based in the North-West of England, the Jodrell Bank Observatory is owned and managed by the University of Manchester.

During the tendering process TNS demonstrated a dedication to using local and seasonal produce as well as delivering food that represents the 16 different nationalities amongst the 150 staff on site.

TNS has created an ‘inspirational’ work and dining space with a high-quality all-day menu that features global flavours. The space can also be used to handle larger functions and conferences, all catered for by the TNS chef team.

Joe Heys, facilities manager at SKAO, said: “We received a number of tenders, but TNS just stood out – their dedication to quality, the culture of food, the culture in general – it’s just ingrained in all of their people and aligns perfectly with ours.

"These are people you could work with every day; they share a passion for great food and outstanding service. The feedback from staff has been great – it's fair to say we’ve been absolutely wowed.”
