For 2026, the awards programme introduces a new category, the Mentor of the Year Award. It was created to recognise the vital role mentoring plays in shaping careers and developing future leaders. The award is open exclusively to IoH members who have taken part in the Institute’s Mentor Me scheme.
IoH chief executive Robert Richardson FIH MI said: “Each year our annual awards recognise the individuals and organisations who are raising standards, developing talent and strengthening our profession. At a time when our industry continues to adapt to economic pressures and changing workforce expectations, it matters that we acknowledge those who invest in people and lead by example.
“The introduction of our Mentor of the Year Award reflects what hospitality has always been about. People supporting people. Mentorship builds confidence, develops leadership and creates opportunity. We are proud to celebrate that impact on a global stage.”
The awards are open to applicants from across the globe, from any hospitality segment and specialism, across small to large hospitality organisations, and do not need to be IoH members, with the exception of the Outstanding Contribution to the Industry 2026.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Monday 15th June 2026 at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London. The award categories include:
- Best Educational Programme 2026: Recognising SME and large employers worldwide that demonstrate excellence in graduate programmes, apprenticeship schemes and student placements across hospitality, leisure and tourism.
