Abstract
Unilever Food Solutions (UFS), makers of Knorr sauces, has joined forces with AB World Foods and its leading oriental retail brand Blue Dragon, to create new pastes and sauces for foodservice.
To celebrate the partnership and its new 'Create More' concentrated sauces and Knorr Professional Blue Dragon pastes, UFS is running a competition where chefs and caterers simply need to get creative and design a dish using the new Knorr Blue Dragon pastes. Five finalists will be selected from the entries to take part in a cook off at the UFS business development kitchen in Leatherhead, Surrey. There are currently four authentic pastes – Thai red and green curry, Laksa curry and Char Siu – that have been created to meet the needs of busy professional chefs, and these are the pastes entrants need to use as the base ingredient for their recipe idea. One lucky chef will win a fantastic prize of a once in a lifetime eight day culinary trip to Bangkok and Phuket for two, where they will experience Royal Thai cuisine at the Blue Elephant School set in a century old mansion in the heart of Phuket, as well as four professional master classes from expert chefs in Bangkok and Phuket. This will include daily trips to the local market to source ingredients and the opportunity to go on a private fishing trip. The winner also wins a video camera to record the trip so that their highlights can be uploaded on to the Knorr Blue Dragon website. • To enter, chefs need to register for a free Knorr Blue Dragon paste sample on the website – www.knorrbluedragon.co.uk – and use the sample to create an original dish. They then have to upload the recipe and method, with a photograph, to the website by Monday, January 23 2012.
