Abstract
LACA, the school food people, has announced that National School Meals Week (NSMW) will take place from 6-10 November 2023.

Over the last 30 years NSMW has been raising awareness about the importance of children receiving a hot, healthy and nutritious school meal. NSMW aims to show parents and students what a modern day school meal actually looks and tastes like.

As part of the NSMW celebrations, LACA hosted their Annual School Lunch event at the House of Commons where they had the opportunity to talk with MPs and showcase the quality of school meals.

Speaking about the 2022 edition of NSMW, chair of LACA Brad Pearce said: “National School Meals Week is one of the highlights of the LACA annual calendar and it’s the opportunity for school caterers, and suppliers to the industry, to shout about the fantastic work we all do each and every day of the school year!

“As LACA chair, I know from the work of my own team in Plymouth, just how fantastic the service is, how high the quality of meals and how committed all of our teams are to making sure that all children and young people can sit down to a great tasting, freshly prepared, hot school lunch. Now more than ever, we know that for many the school lunch may be their only hot meal of the day.”
