LACA Harvest Festival Wheatsheaf Loaf Competition offers £500 for 3 winning schools
Abstract
LACA has joined forces with McDougalls to create the Harvest Festival Wheatsheaf Loaf Competition, which challenges schoolchildren to produce an amazing Wheatsheaf Loaf.

There are three prizes of £500 each for the best entries. This money must be spent on either equipment for the school kitchen or for the food tech class. The entry must have been ‘largely’ created by a school pupil in either primary or secondary education.

The entry deadline is Friday 31st October. A panel of judges from LACA and Premier Foods (manufacturer of McDougalls) will decide who the three deserved winners are.

A LACA spokesperson said: “This competition is open to primary and secondary school pupils, and we would love to see your school get involved. It’s a fun way to engage students in baking, creativity, and the spirit of Harvest Festival.”

Open to primary and secondary school pupils who are resident in the UK. The competition can be entered by an individual pupil or a team of pupils. Each entrant must upload:

  • A short written description (maximum 100 words) about their baked item.
  • Up to five original images of the baked item.
