Abstract
Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust has awarded ISS the contract to deliver non-clinical soft facilities management services across the Trust.

The seven-year contract will deliver services to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, University Hospital Lewisham and the associated community sites. This is a contract retention for ISS at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the award will see approximately 400 staff transferring to ISS from University Lewisham Hospital.

Chris Ash, managing director of ISS Healthcare, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with the Trust. We are aligned in our vision and commitment, where both our organisation will be employers of choice and together, we will create a place where people in the community want to be treated”.

ISS has committed to invest over £4m in new equipment and technology. They will also continue to focus on the development of their people through the ISS Academy model, which will enable the operational and transformational change.

The Trust’s chief executive, Ben Travis, added: “We involved staff and members of the public in the tendering process over the last year, to make sure that the new contract for these services meets our needs. We are excited about working in partnership with ISS and about the range of improvements they will be introducing.”

New contract will include an on-site Training Academy, allowing new employees to be fully trained before they start their new patient facing roles. Career progression across the Trust has also been identified as a positive approach for those who want to serve the people of Lewisham and Greenwich.

The new award will see ISS providing a wide range of services across the Trust, including patient catering, healthcare cleaning and waste management.
