Abstract
Chef, TV presenter and judge on MasterChef: The Professionals Monica Galetti is lined up to speak to delegates at the TUCO Summer Conference 2026, taking place at Edge Hill University from July 27-29.

She will be part of a varied speaker programme, along with a busy exhibition floor, evening socials and the annual Gala Awards Dinner which comprise this showpiece event in the university catering calendar.

Hosting across the three days is Paul Sinha (better known as 'The Sinnerman' on The Chase) a former GP turned award-winning comedian whose sharp wit and immaculate timing are sure to keep proceedings moving.

Along with Monica Galetti, Alex Polizzi will also be speaking, bringing her experience as host of TV’s The Hotel Inspector to a session focused on outstanding customer service and its commercial advantage.

Veteran newsman Robert Peston then steps up to offer his perspective on managing and thriving in a fracturing and uncertain world, before Nic Hamilton closes the day with an account of what it takes to stay driven in the face of real adversity - a session built around teamwork, determination and confronting challenges head on.

On Wednesday, July 29, Celia Gaze will explore how sustainability, creativity and purpose-led thinking can be translated into tangible gains - in student experience, staff engagement and commercial performance alike.

There will also be a session from Shabnam Islam, Richie Mandahar-Richardson and Amy Roach that examines how behavioural science and AI can be used to engineer profitable, plant-rich menus and drive diner choice.

Applied futurist Tom Cheesewright will examine how intersecting global trends are shaping food futures, equipping delegates with practical foresight tools for the pressures they face today.

Running throughout the conference, the supplier exhibition offers delegates the opportunity to engage directly with framework suppliers, explore new product launches and source ideas to take back to their institutions.

And the event concludes on Wednesday evening with the TUCO Gala Awards Dinner, recognising the outstanding achievements and contributions of individuals and teams across university catering.
