In the first session, which was held in September 2025, McCain introduced its regenerative agricultural framework. There are three core pillars:
- Creating value: McCain provides products that customers love
- Active partner: McCain believes in working together to build strong partnerships
- Leading brand: McCain has proud British roots and champions industry best practice
As the UK’s largest purchaser of British potatoes, with a potato seed business in Montrose, Scotland and close links to over 300 potato growers across the UK, McCain says it is committed to ensuring quality through every step of the supply chain.
McCain works with schools around the country and understand the challenges faced by busy school cooks. With this in mind, McCain developed the new expanded Chef Solutions range to provide time, waste and labour saving solutions so that school chefs can do what they do best, consistently deliver high standard school compliant meals.
Rita Kers, senior customer development manager at McCain, said: “Our McCain Agriculture team took customers straight to the fields with Cropwatch Live. There’s no better way to experience potato season than seeing it through a farmer’s eyes.
“We’re proud to work side by side with UK growers, building fair partnerships and championing sustainable farming. [Cropwatch is] all about sharing that journey — and bringing everyone a little closer to where great potatoes begin.”
