Launched in March 2026, this InKERBator will be dedicated to Streets Ahead participants - many of whom come from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds. The Streets Ahead programme was created to address the barriers many aspiring food entrepreneurs face when trying to enter the industry.
Built on KERB’s experience of supporting up-and-coming food talent, the programme combines classroom learning with real-world trading at KERB’s Cowcross Yards market in London, helping participants build confidence, develop commercial skills and take their first steps toward running profitable food businesses.
A McCain spokesperson said: “The future of foodservice depends on the people coming through it. Through the Streets Ahead programme and now a dedicated InKERBator, we’re supporting emerging entrepreneurs with practical opportunities to build confidence, learn by doing and take real steps toward sustainable businesses. It’s about being a true ally to the industry and investing in its future from the ground up.”
Participants joining the first InKERBator cohort include Aklima (Deshi), Gavin (Cleaver’s Kitchen), Jenan (One8), Elliott (Elliottz Grill), Nour (Baytna), Nas (Thai & Fry), Ali (Mama Zizi) and Darell (Caribana BBQ).
Their concepts reflect the diversity of the UK street food scene, spanning Bangladeshi chaat, Syrian-inspired burgers, Lebanese comfort food, Thai street food, Caribbean BBQ, Nigerian flavours and Middle Eastern fusion sandwiches.
From April, participants will begin live trading at KERB’s Cowcross Yards market, bringing their concepts to life for the public while gaining vital real-world trading experience.
