Abstract
School food provider Mellors Catering Services has unveiled its latest culinary creation, ‘Crafted by Mellors’ a collection of four dishes inspired by 180 years of food heritage.
Developed over 12 months by executive development chef Stuart Dale, the range features four exclusive dishes — two sweet and two savoury. Every recipe has been tested in schools, colleges and B&I sites.
Mellors began life as a bakery in Southport back in 1840. After rounds of tasting, feedback, and fine-tuning, the team unveiled four signature dishes already making waves across schools and colleges:
- The Mighty Stack – Two patties layered with lettuce, gherkins, soft buns and a hit of Klaas’ Kickin’ Sauce.
- The Yorkie Wrap – A savoury meal featuring chicken, seasonal vegetables, and marinated Mr. Tim’s secret spice blend, all wrapped in a golden Yorkshire pudding and served with gravy mayo.
- The Twist – Inspired by a 156-year-old scone recipe, this sweet treat adds a modern spin to a timeless favourite. Top it your way — with chocolate drizzle, jam and cream, or other tasty toppings.
- Mr. Tim’s Caramel Dream – Soft sponge soaked in rich caramel sauce, featuring a secret ingredient once considered a luxury in 1840.
Dale said: “We’re always looking for new ways to make mealtimes more exciting, memorable, and meaningful. Crafted by Mellors takes that to a whole new level — it’s our history, innovation, and love of food all on one plate – with lots of special surprises along the way.”
