Around 70 guests attended the evening and enjoyed a pan-Caribbean menu including dishes like rice and peas arancini, beef short ribs with mashed potato and plantain creme brulee with passionfruit sorbet.
A spokesperson for The Clink Charity said: “Natty’s story is remarkable and inspiring. A talented chef from a young age, Natty fell in with the wrong crowd in his teenage years and ended up serving two and a half years at HMP Brixton in his mid-twenties.
“Here, he rediscovered his love of cooking at The Clink and the rest is history. He has recently opened his first restaurant in Herne Hill, South London, called 2210, which serves pan-Caribbean food taking inspiration from his childhood.”
During an interview, The Clink Charity ambassador Nathaniel Mortley (Natty Can Cook) explained his ‘biggest achievement’ to date was showing people it’s possible to turn things around and still reach a high level within the culinary world.
