20th Aug 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
A new job has meant a promotion from League Two to the Championship for the Ricoh Arena’s latest recruit.
Chris Woolrich has been appointed as beverage and logistics manager at the multi-purpose venue after moving from Port Vale where he worked as operations manager. Chris joins the Ricoh team in Coventry after six years of managerial experience in the hospitality sector. Previous to his role at Port Vale, Chris worked as relief manager for hotel and restaurant company Whitbread, where he covered the managerial roles for both Premier Inn and Brewers Fayre, and he also worked as general manager at RAF Cosford. In his new role at the Ricoh Arena, Chris will oversee the management of six staff on a day-to-day basis and up to 400 staff on Coventry City m tch days. Chris said: "The job is going really well, I'm getting to know the team and already the new systems that I've introduced and put in place are helping to make sure things run smoothly and efficiently. Everyone is hands on and gets on with it – and on a match day when there is so much to do and we're very busy, the team is great at pulling together and working well. "I'm looking forward to the challenges ahead and will use my previous experience to help me make the right decisions."
