
The NHS Customer Board for Procurement and Supply aims to influence and lead national procurement strategy by engaging with the senior stakeholders across acute, mental health and community trusts who understand the challenges faced by the NHS.
NHS Supply Chain is part of the NHS family and manage the sourcing, delivery and supply of healthcare products, services and food for NHS trusts and healthcare organisations across England and Wales. It delivers over 35 million lines of picked goods to the NHS annually and their systems consolidate orders from over 1,100 suppliers.
Harrison has served as a chief executive of Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since 2013, ‘transforming’ its record across several key areas and ‘pioneering’ digital advances.
Commenting on his appointment, Harrison said: “It is a critical time for our NHS to ensure that we are delivering the best possible patient care in the most efficient and timely manner, and the work of the NHS Supply Chain has consistently demonstrated excellence in ensuring that our healthcare system is appropriately equipped to deliver this.”
