Norfolk pupils get set for Tallest Jelly challenge

1st Oct 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Pupils from schools across Norfolk are busy finalising their designs as they compete in the Tallest Jelly Competition tomorrow as part of the Norfolk Food Festival.
Prizes are presented to the tallest jelly in each of the primary, secondary and sixth form age groups. A prize will also be given for the best project design and the best overall school. The judging of the tallest jelly competition will take place at The Forum in the centre of Norwich from 11am until 1pm. Last year the winning entry came in at 370mm and met all the rules which meant they had created the jelly from the prescribed jelly tablets and all the materials used in the construction were edible. Their design was based on using a conical mould and a series of jelly layers were held together by rice paper in decreasing sizes down the cone.
