Actor, comedian and writer Miles Jupp has been picked by Public Sector Catering to be the awards night host, which is taking place on Thursday 9th April at the London Hilton Metropole.

The Public Sector Catering Awards celebrate excellence across the whole sector in schools, hospitals, care homes, universities, catering colleges, prisons, the armed forces and those who operate in a contract catering environment.

Miles Jupp is an actor, writer, comedian and former host of  BBC Radio 4s The News Quiz. His many tv appearances include The Thick of It, The Durrells, The Crown, Belgravia, Sex Education, The Full Monty and he is currently filming War for Sky Studios. On film he has featured in Journey’s and The Look of Love as well as Napoleon, Silent Twins and Joy. 

As a comedian highlights on tv include Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week, 8 Out of Ten Cats Does Countdown and many episodes of Have I Got News for You both as a panellist and more recently as host. He has written three books, Fibber In The Heat an account of when he bluffed his way into the press corp in India, Egg and Soldiers as Damien Trench and a novel History.  

Four chefs representing the very best of culinary talent in the public sector worked together on the three-course menu to be served to more than 650 guests at the Public Sector Catering Awards.

There will be 19 awards handed out on the night, including the Lifetime Achievement Award that was not open for nominations. This accolade gives the judges an opportunity to acknowledge outstanding, long-term and dedicated contribution to the industry.
