Rebecca Simpson comes second in major national awards

19th Oct 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Rebecca Simpson, personal assistant to Robyn Jones, co-founder and chief executive of caterer Charlton House, has come second in a major national awards programme, the executive PA Magazine 'PA of the Year Awards'.
As well as supporting Jones, Simpson also works for other board directors and holds responsibility for all facilities at Charlton House's corporate headquarters, from security through to leasing issues. Simpson, who has worked for Charlton House for the past six years, said: "When it comes to our relationship I think that I strike the right balance between friendship and the professional relationship between a boss and a personal assistant." "I know my position, yet at the same time, we work very closely together and know what each other is thinking. Robyn has to have complete confidence in my ability to be able to delegate and to trust me with tasks. I have huge respect for her and what she has achieved and I do my very best to continue to meet and maintain her high standards and values." Jones added: "Becci is very trust-worthy; she never crosses the line and is completely dependable, exacting and orderly. I've seen her grow in 'stature' a great deal since she has been with us. She told me that when she handed her notice in with her previous employer her boss just burst into tears……I will feel the same!" Simpson was rewarded with a glass plaque and an enormous bouquet of red roses at the awards ceremony which took place at the Royal Garden Hotel in London on 9th October.
