The informative workshop sessions will return offering practical advice on key operational issues, explore the impact of new legislation and share best practice case studies. The workshops are free to attend and open to both visitors and delegates. The workshops will take place on Tuesday 7th July.
The workshops include:
Workshop 1: ParentPay School Meals Report
The annual Parentpay report conducted in conjunction with The School Food People will look at parental views on the school food service. Discover views on food quality, preferred food choices and much more.
Workshop 2: The challenge of special diets, IDDSI and textured meals
Nutritionist Sophie Murray has expert knowledge of the challenges caterers face when needing to provide specialised diets for customers. Much is focused on special diets amongst the elderly, but the requirements are increasing in the school meals service.
Workshop 3: Ask the Experts
The annual Q&A where The School Food People experts will answer questions and concerns posted by members and visitors. Questions can be posted on the day or in advance using this link: https://www.theschoolfoodpeople.co.uk/contact-us.
The session will be chaired by Bryan Lygate, chief operating officer at Impact Food Group and School Food People national vice chair. Other panelists include:
- Louise Kerton, School Food People Wales board director
- Philippa Terry, chief operating officer at Juniper Ventures and director of The School Food People
- Luke Consiglio, chief executive The Pantry Catering and director of The School Food People
And this year there is an additional feature to celebrate 120 years of school meals - the School Food Museum pop-up visitor attraction, where you will see typical school meals over the decades.
Running alongside The School Food People Forum on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th July, is the free-to-attend, School Food People Show, the only show in the UK which is dedicated the school food sector.
