Abstract
The School Food People has revealed where the School Chef of the Year (SCOTY) regional finals will take place throughout the next few months, with the first three taking place next week.
With the competition focus on producing nutritious, delicious meals for 11-year-old primary or secondary school pupils, the SCOTY competition is the perfect showcase for passionate school chefs to demonstrate what they do best every day.
Competitors must prepare, cook and present four portions of a main course and dessert with a total food cost of £1.750 per head in 90 minutes that meet the School Food Standards and Eat Well Guide. The SCOTY competition has again been sponsored by Bistro from Premier Foods.
Regional final winners will each receive a £100 cash prize and advance to the SCOTY final at The School Food Show and Forum. The regional final venues include:
- London region, Tuesday 3rd March (morning competition): Brakes Kitchen Reading
- South East region, Tuesday 3rd March (afternoon competition): Brakes Kitchen Reading
- East of England region, Tuesday 3rd March (afternoon competition): Brakes Kitchen Reading
- Yorkshire & Humber region, Friday 20th March: Leeds City College
- North East & Scotland region, Friday 20th March: Leeds City College
- West Midlands region, Monday 27th April (morning competition): Rational kitchen Cannock
- Wales region, Monday 27th April (afternoon competition): Rational kitchen Cannock
- North West region, Monday 27th April (afternoon competition): Rational kitchen Cannock
- East Midlands region, Tuesday 28th April: Rational kitchen Cannock
- South West region, Wednesday 6th May: Rational at Nisbets
