Abstract
Oriental specialist School of Wok is set to open its flagship cookery school in London's Covent Garden this summer.
The central London venue will provide a space for food enthusiasts to get hands-on and learn the techniques to make tastier and healthier versions of their favourite Asian meals. Founder and Cordon Bleu-trained chef Jeremy Pang will teach students how to prepare traditional Oriental dishes passed down from three generations of Chinese chefs, while a range of guest tutors specialising in cuisines from all over Asia, including Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and Japanese will each bring their own recipes to the table. School of Wok students will get hands-on in two state of the art AEG kitchens fitted with steam-combi ovens ideal for dim sum, purpose built tepanyaki work tops and wok. Pang commented: "So many Brits love to eat Chinese take away, but very few people actually cook Chinese at home. Once people realise that they can create delicious Oriental dishes in minutes using fresh ingredients and without MSG, cooking Chinese at home will become as popular as rustling up a spal bol." School of Wok Covent Garden is set to open in May 2012. Lessons start from £45 per person. For pre-bookings visit www.schoolofwok.co.uk.
