Seasoned introduces new food concept at University of Sussex Students’ Union
Abstract
Seasoned, the hospitality and catering specialists, has started a new partnership with the University of Sussex Students’ Union introducing a new food concept SUNNY’S at Falmer Bar.

Rooted in Seasoned’s passion for fresh, high‑quality ingredients and food made in-house, SUNNY’S brings a ‘vibrant and contemporary dining experience to campus’. The concept champions bold flavours, freshly prepared dishes and a flexible menu designed around the rhythms of a busy day.

The menu reflects Seasoned’s farm-to-fork philosophy, with dishes prepared from fresh, quality ingredients and a focus on choice and creativity. Students can build their own deli bowls with salads and house-prepared proteins such as garlic and rosemary roasted chicken or teriyaki roasted tofu.

For something more substantial, the bar menu offers freshly made smash burgers, Southern fried chicken burgers and a spiced falafel option, served alongside globally inspired, in-house prepared sides like Korean and Mexican loaded fries.

Paul Boon, chief venues officer at Seasoned, said: “Our aim was to create a concept that feels fresh, inclusive and full of personality – somewhere students genuinely want to spend time. From the menu to the atmosphere, everything has been designed with student life in mind.”

The offer is completed with a wide variety of comforting favourites, including tacos, pitta pizzas, jacket potatoes and nachos, alongside freshly baked sweet treats such as vegan chocolate brownies and warm cookies – ensuring there’s something fresh, flavourful and satisfying for every moment of the day.

Elena Southard, University of Sussex Students’ Union student living & sustainability office, added: “We’re delighted to have Seasoned onboard at Falmer Bar. Their enthusiastic and dynamic approach really came across in their pitch, building trust that they could create a service that really works for Sussex students.

“Already, they’ve built a menu to suit a variety of dining types, allergens, and budget-friendly options, and I feel confident this will be a true partnership. I’m sure they’ll be very loved at Falmer, and are keen to keep working with our students to make sure they’re delivering aces.”

SUNNY’S is now open at Falmer Bar, offering students a new, vibrant space to eat, meet and unwind.
