Signature Dining launches new outsourcing model
Abstract
Paul Robottom, owner and founder-director of Signature Dining, has launched into the care sector a new service that aims to provide hard pressed kitchen teams with bespoke support in areas where they most need it.

“Signature Elements offers the flexibility to build your own service development package, focusing on the key areas of your service that you would like to enhance, without the expense of totally outsourcing your food service.

“From food management to allergen compliance, chef recruitment and training to textured foods presentation with our ‘Dignity on a plate’ ethos, our award winning and experienced team will work with you and your kitchen teams to build a bespoke training and support programme for you, your residents and your catering staff," explains Robottom.

He aims to offer the add-on services where needed throughout the UK and says the tariffs are ‘bespoke and flexible’ to be affordable for care homes operating with local-authority-funded residents.

Robottom added: “We have only just launched, but have been getting a huge amount of interest already as we put feelers out to test the market.”

The Signature Elements package includes four main categories of support for care catering teams:

  • Kitchen management – food safety, health and safety, risk assessments, service mobilisation, commercial kitchen design
  • People management – staff training, recruitment support, staff cover, manager mentoring, grievance and disciplinary protocols
  • Menu management – menu development, texture modified menus, allergen compliance, marketing & merchandising
  • Money management – staff structure, assured purchasing, online ordering & stock management, budgeting menus, cost-saving audit, equipment supplies

Signature Dining was founded in 2016 by Paul Robottom and today serves more than 3,000 meals a day in care homes around the country. The company won the 2020 Public Sector Catering Care Caterer of the Year Award.
