Sodexo rewarded for investing in its people

23rd Jun 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Sodexo has achieved an Investors in People (IIP) re-accreditation across its entire UK and Ireland business.
Since 1996, Sodexo has been Investors in People accredited for developing its standards and using good practice with its staff. Sodexo had to meet 39 requirements set by IIP. External assessments were carried out to provide assurance to Sodexo, its employees, its partners and its clients that the standards were continuing to be implemented within the organisation. This was supported by internal reviews carried out by a team of 33 people from within the business. By investing in its people, Sodexo's benefits have included lower staff turnover, better employee relations, improved motivation and morale and increased productivity amongst many other business benefits. Gary Inman, managing assessor for Capital Quality, an independent external assessment company, said: "There are some outstanding examples of good people practices across the organisation, which very clearly enable and underpin improved business performance. There are some exceptionally committed and extremely effective leaders and managers within the organisation whose efforts should be celebrated. These people are making a substantive difference, not only to the fortunes of Sodexo, but also to the wellbeing of its customers."
