Abstract
The Springboard Charity is aiming to inspire young people to learn the ‘invaluable life skill’ of cooking with FutureChef’s Summer Kitchen.

Celebrity chefs including Richard Corrigan, Ruth Hansom and Gary Maclean will create cookery demonstration videos offering young people tips on how to prepare their favourite recipes. The aim of the campaign is to get young people cooking over the summer by launching a new demonstration video every Friday.

The campaign is also calling on other chefs across the UK to post their own short cooking demonstrations on social media using the #fcsummerkitchen hashtag.

MasterChef: The Professionals 2016 champion Maclean, said: "I have been involved with Future Chef for over 15 years as a mentor and a judge. I have seen first-hand how this competition not only builds confidence in young people, but also teaches essential life skills and opens up the amazing world of the hospitality industry."

Those who enjoy the campaign will be encouraged to enter Springboard’s FutureChef competition for 2020. The competition ‘inspires’ thousands of young people (aged 11-16) to learn new cooking skills including knife techniques and nutrition.
