SSP opens first Haferkater store at Frankfurt central station
Abstract
Food and travel operator, SSP, has opened gastro-based start-up Haferkater at Frankfurt central station on platform five.

Haferkater’s speciality is freshly cooked porridge served with toppings including almonds, cedar seeds, maple syrup, pear and honey. Porridge is high in fibre and a great option for vegans. There are now six Haferkater stores in various German cities.

Levin Siert, co-founder and managing director of Haferkater, said; “Porridge stands for the lifestyle of a health-conscious, young urban generation. Our customers value wholesome, natural food. This is what they want for breakfast and for takeaway.”

SSP now operates seven stores at Frankfurt central station and plans to open further Haferkater stores at other locations.

Jan Kamp, director of business development & properties at SSP, said: “The founders of Haferkater have established this traditional Scottish dish as a popular breakfast alternative.

“This brand is a perfect complement to the gastronomic offer here in Frankfurt and also to the SSP portfolio. Haferkater is one of the latest additions to our brand mix and is yet another example of how we are constantly developing our business.”
