Abstract
According to recent research commissioned by ePOS Hybrid 48% of UK consumers would spend more on a hospitality experience once things ‘return to normal’ if it helps businesses get back on their feet.

The research also found that 45% of consumers are committed to supporting local independents in the hospitality sector and have continued to order from them during the lockdown period.

Andrew Gibbon, head of growth at ePOS Hybrid, said: “It is very encouraging to see consumers’ willingness to help get the sector back on its feet through continued support and increased spend, something that is essential if the industry is to fully recover.

“As the industry prepares to open its doors again, we look forward to seeing new technology continue to be adopted to streamline operations and in turn, increase profitability – which will be vital for post-pandemic recovery.”

Small businesses have introduced takeaway and delivery services during lockdown, which has provided them with a new stream of revenue.
