Thames Valley University's School of Hospitality becomes Red Tractor member

Paul Lay, public relations manager of Massey Ferguson presented a plaque to Professor David Foskett, MBE CMA, Thames Valley University's (TVU) School of Hospitality and Tourism Head of School at a celebratory luncheon on Tuesday 25th May. Thames Valley University has one of the largest schools of hospitality in the country, which is led by Professor David Foskett, who is renowned in the catering industry for authoring hospitality textbooks that are a reference point for many chefs around the country. Penny Beauchamp, trade marketing manager, said: "We're delighted to be able to award Red Tractor status to Thames Valley University's School of Hospitality. It's a chance to widen our reach to the next generation of hospitality management students. This is one of the most influential hospitality schools in the country, launching the careers of some of the sector's most important operators." Students created and served a menu that used Red Tractor farm assured ingredients wherever possible. It also showcased lesser-used cuts of meat including mutton and turkey legs. Foskett added: "TVU's School of Hospitality and Tourism is proud to be the first catering school in the UK to be granted Red Tractor membership. A huge amount of hard work has gone into ensuring that we fulfil all Red Tractor criteria from safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen to animal welfare when sourcing meat so that our students can confidently create high quality meals in the best environment."
