TUCO announces appointment of vice chair

Amanda Pettingill, catering, hospitality and conferencing director at the University of Nottingham, has been announced as the new vice chair of The University Caterers Organisation (TUCO).

Having joined the TUCO board in 2015, Amanda has experience within the catering industry including work within contract catering, sport and the education sector. Speaking about her appointment, Amanda said: “This appointment will enable me to further support the current chair Phil Rees-Jones, chief executive Mike Haslin, the board and members of TUCO.

“Phil and I will work closely, utilising our considerable expertise from inside and outside of the sector, to further enhance and develop TUCO’s strategy for the future, alongside our members. I am very grateful for everyone’s endorsement within TUCO and the support of University of Nottingham enabling my appointment.”   

The appointment was announced at the summer TUCO Conference, which included keynote speeches from Tanya and Nadim Laperouse, Matt Pritchard, (known as The Dirty Vegan) as well as Amar Latif.

Phil added: “Since joining the Board in 2015, Amanda’s professionalism and wealth of experience have been an integral part in the growth and the advancements made in our organisation. Amanda also made a huge impact in guiding the company through the uncertain Covid period. I am looking forward to working alongside Amanda as we develop the next phase for TUCO and our members.”
