Abstract
The higher education body CUBO (College and University Business Officers) has added two new board members to help with the work the organisation carries out for members.

Sue Pimblett, senior marketing and communications manager with the facilities directorate at the University of Leeds will be working with chair elect Jo Hardman (Lancaster University) on CUBO's research activities.

This will include research into the campus experience, an accommodation occupancy report, and a review of the annual CUBO benchmarking survey.

And Phil Scott, head of commercial services at Manchester Metropolitan University, will work with vice chair Kirsty Woodward from the University of Leicester on the CUBO conferencing and networking agenda.

Planning for the Winter 2020 Conference, to be hosted by Loughborough University, is already underway and a move to online meetings and webinars is planned.

CUBO chair Gillian Almond, from Royal Holloway, University of London, says: “We are delighted to welcome Sue and Phil to the board. They are joining at a pivotal phase in CUBO’s work and at a challenging time too, as we are all into uncharted territories with the outbreak of Covid-19, having a serious impact on the higher education sector.

“They bring with them a unique and valuable range of skills and experiences that will help strengthen the Board strategically for our future direction.

“Our networking and research activities are vital in enabling members to make the right decisions for their organisations – support that they need now, more than ever.

“The year ahead promises to be particularly complex as we look to ensure students safety and wellbeing on campuses across the UK in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak.

“CUBO has an important role to play within the HE sector in supporting and sharing best practice across our membership, as services resume back to pre Covid-19 levels. Services, which together with the support of professional partners, have helped make our UK universities amongst the best in the World.”
