Abstract
Contract catering company Wilson Vale has increased its operations team with the appointment of its eleventh area manager.

The Leicestershire-based firm has promoted Jake Herreros (left) from chef manager to area manager after the 28-year-old proved himself a “natural mentor” to co founder Carolyne Vale.

She said: “When Jake joined us initially he accepted the challenge of a chef manager’s position. Although he didn’t have previous managerial experience, his craft skills were superb and he has proved to be an able and outstanding manager who has kept a loyal and motivated brigade with him on his journey.”

Herreros was formerly a chef manager with Wilson Vale at The Beacon School, an independent day school for boys in Amersham, Buckinghamshire.

He started his career working as a commis chef at 16th century The Old Trout Hotel in Thame, Oxfordshire.

“Wilson Vale’s culture and their passion, enthusiasm and commitment to my development have given me the freedom and opportunity to grow,” said Herreros.

Wilson Vale recently celebrated five years in a row featuring on the Foodservice Growth Report’s top 20 catering companies list.

It came 12th on the list based on reported turnover and compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the last three years.

The report showed Wilson Vale had achieved 18.3% CAGR in gross profit and a rise in turnover of 25.4% over the period.
